Kevin Olsen
Kevin has always had a keen interest in all forms of aviation,
even as a young teenager. He helped support his college expenses
at Georgia Tech by working as a flight instructor in Atlanta. He
then flew flight research aircraft for Princeton Universitys
aeronautical engineering college.
Enlisting in the Air Force provided him with the training required
to fly F-105 jet fighters for the NJ Air National Guard.
In 1973 Kevin began flying for Eastern Airlines and that same year
started ballooning as a hobby. This hobby quickly became a part-time
business and grew steadily. When Eastern Airlines stopped flying
in 1991----Alexandria Balloon Flights became his full-time career.
Last year Kevin flew his 10,000th delighted balloon passenger!
